U.S. forces in northern Syria were pelted with fruit and vegetables as they withdrew from the region while betraying their Kurdish allies who are now subjected to ethnic cleansing by the Turkish government.
Reactionaries I’m sure will use this as reason enough to justify Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw forces under the guise of stopping “endless wars” and to “bring U.S. troops home”. The fact of the matter, however, U.S. troops are instead bring repositioned in Saudi Arabia because at least Trump is stupid enough to think out loud and confirm the U.S. military are in fact mercenaries. The POTUS reaffirmed this last week when he commentated that the Saudi’s will pay “100 percent of the cost” for the redeployment of American forces to benefit the Kingdom.
As far as U.S. troops taking on the ire of the Kurdish people in northern Syria obviously any apathetic person can’t blame the Kurds for reacting this way, especially after that bullshit “ceasefire” the United States agreed to with Turkey. This is one of the consequences of U.S. imperialism. It creates these vacumes which are made worse by impulsive simpletons like Donald Trump who is really only looking to better their own situations.
