Police has identified the suspect who opened fire inside the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California as 38-year-old as Nasim Najafi Aghdam of San Diego.

According to authorities, 911 calls reporting gunshots on the YouTube campus as well as an adjacent business complex began to roll in around 12:46 local time. Police began to descend on the location shortly thereafter discovering four wounded not including the shooter who apparently took her own life with a self inflicted gunshot wound.

As far as a motive goes, Aghdam evidently “hated” the company due to her claims that she was being censored and further complained about YouTube’s monetary policies.

NBC News:

“Youtube (sic) filtered my channels to keep them from getting views!” Aghdam wrote on her website.

“There is no free speech in real world & you will be suppressed for telling the truth that is not supported by the system. Videos of targeted users are filtered & merely relegated, so that people can hardly see their videos!”

Aside from YouTube, Aghdam had a vast internet footprint which included her website where she made further accusations against the social media giant as well as the ‘dictatorship(s) that exist in all countries’:

BE AWARE! Dictatorship exists in all countries but with different tactics! They only care for
personal short term profits & do anything to reach their goals even by fooling simple-minded people,
hiding the truth, manipulating science & everything, putting public mental & physical health at risk,
abusing non-human animals, polluting environment, destroying family values, promoting materialism &
sexual degeneration in the name of freedom,..... & turning people into programmed robots!
"Make the lie big, Make it simple, Keep saying it, And eventually they will believe it" Adolf
Hitler...
There is no free speech in real world & you will be suppressed for telling the truth that is not
supported by the system. Videos of targeted users are filtered & merely relegated, so that people can
hardly see their videos!
.There is no equal growth opportunity on YOUTUBE or any other video sharing site,
your channel will grow if they want to!!!!!

Some of those claims against demonetization included Aghdam professing that YouTube had only paid her $.10 on a video with over 300,000 views. Aghdam also posted a video on her Facebook page this past February sounding off on YouTube’s new policies.

This past Monday, Aghdam’s father reported her missing after she didn’t answer her phone for two straight days. Mountain View, California police eventually notified the family of her whereabouts when she was found sleeping in her car. This however seemingly set off alarm bells with her brother after realizing the proximity of Mountain View to San Bruno while taking into account her anger toward the company.

According to the family, they aren’t sure where she got the handgun used in the shooting and suspect she purchased it herself.

When it comes to the victims, there doesn’t appear to be any further connection with Aghdam. Luckily too no one other than the suspected shooter lost their lives.
