Less than 24 hours after the terrorism that took place in El Paso, Texas, another mass shooting took place, this time in Dayton, Ohio.

It seems like “thoughts and prayers” didn’t work.

According to Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, 10 people were killed including the shooter with another 26 injured in the second act of domestic terrorism that has taken place in the United States this weekend. This shooter — who has been identified by police as a white male — opened fire around 1 am ET in the Oregon District of Dayton, an area of the City with a number of bars and restaurants that is sure to be packed with people on a Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The shooter was also reportedly wearing body armor and used a “.223 high-capacity” gun and had additional magazines with him, the Dayton mayor said.

The actual identification of the shooter hasn’t been determined, nor has a motive been established. Police are investigating whether multiple people were involved but at this time it’s believed that only one shooter was involved.
