EpiPen

Mylan CEO Heather Bresch appeared on CNBC Thursday discussing the massive price increase of the EpiPen something that will probably end up killing people from now until whenever (if ever) the price becomes reasonable once again.

According to Bresch, ‘the system’ is to blame for a 400 percent increase in the life-saving pen that now cost patients around $600 for two instead of the much more affordable $100.

This increase also comes on the heels of Bresch receiving a 671 percent salary raise.

The irony is Bresch’s excuse is correct, the system is at fault for the EpiPen price increase but not for the reasons she claims. On all account this is big business taking advantage of a monopoly something the government should have squashed a long time ago. And when government and big pharmacy are essentially in bed with each other the consumer always loses.
