At least five have been killed and eight others wounded in a mass shooting that occurred today at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
According to reports, the suspect – who has been identified as Estaban Santiago – opened fire after receiving his checked luggage in the terminal two baggage claim located on the bottom floor of the airport. Terminal two houses Delta Airlines as well as Air Canada which it’s believed the shooter came through via his original destination in Alaska before a stop over in Canada.
It’s also being reported that Santiago had an altercation with other passengers on the plane before landing. Santiago was apprehended alive and without being shot and is now being interviewed by local and federal law enforcement officials.

UPDATE: This was actually a Delta flight from Alaska that may have had a layover in Minneapolis. It’s also being reported that Estaban Santiago was a member of the military.
