Today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi formally extended an invitation to Donald Trump to give the State of the Union on February 5, in the House Chamber.

Pelosi previously blocked Trump from giving the State of the Union in the House Chamber during the government shutdown which was suppose to originally take place tomorrow. Trump then threatened to give the SOTU at an alternate location before ultimately bowing to Pelosi’s demand to open the government before giving his SOTU speech in the traditional venue.

Nonetheless it’ll probably be the most interesting SOTU well since last year’s address given it’ll be coming on the heels of the longest government shutdown in this Nation’s history. The speech could also prelude another government shutdown over the border wall which is penciled in to take place in mid February.
