Coolio, who rose to enormous fame during the 1990s has died at age of 59.

According to reports, Coolio (whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) was found unresponsive in a bathroom at a friend’s house. The rapper was pronounced dead on the scene by EMTs who suspected cardiac arrest says his longtime manager Jarez.

Coolio got his start in the LA rap scene in the late 1980s, however, it wasn’t until 1995 that he achieved national acclaim with the hit “Gangsta’s Paradise” from the “Dangerous Minds” soundtrack.
