House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has faced plenty of bullshit from the right since her rise to Capital Hill. Some of it she’s shrugged off, other’s she’s taken head-on.

Today though she wasn’t taking the bullshit coming from the Mitch McConnell lotion and lather expo otherwise known as Fancy Farm. It was there that a photo emerged of some guys standing next to a cardboard cutout of the New York Congresswoman in which they were groping and choking her.

Ironically, given those “Team Mitch” shirts (a must have I’m sure for the upcoming school year) and their perceived outlook on women, I’m sure this is the closed these guys will ever get to a female consensually.

But I digress.

AOC responded to the picture tweeting:

The McConnell campaign responded by telling the Washington Post that they “in no way condones” the picture but added the high schoolers in the photo had no official affiliation with the campaign. The campaign further added “these young men are not campaign staff. They’re high schoolers and it’s incredible that the national media has sought to once again paint a target on their backs rather than report real, and significant news in our country”.

“Team Mitch” though seemed to be on a roll when it came to associating itself with bullshit pictures from over the weekend. In addition to the AOC one, the campaign actually posted the following picture not long after the mass shooting in El Paso.

The photo which was also taken at Fancy Farm depicts a bunch of fake tombstones with one showing an inscription of Amy McGrath, who is campaigning for the Democratic nomination to run against McConnell. Another was inscribed with “socialism” because I guess he’s the self touted Grim Reaper of socialism. One of the others had depicted McConnell killing the Judge Merrick Garland nomination to the Supreme Court.

If there was ever a tone deaf boomer attempt at internet savviness, then there you go.
