Eight months after the release of âRevivalâ Eminem delighted fans with the announcement that he would add a 13 track followup entitled âKamikazeâ. Among those 13 tracks was the lead-in called âThe Ringerâ in which the Detroit artist â who is a pretty vocal critic of Donald Trump â seemed to have claimed to be questioned by the Secret Service based on the lines ââCause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service / To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtinâ him / Or ask if Iâm linked to terrorists / I said, âOnly when it comes to ink and lyricists.'â
Although the Secret Service didnât comment on whether or not the claim from Eminem was true, BuzzFeed News filed a Freedom of Information Act to obtain any possible related documention. And what BuzzFeed received this week were 40 pages detailing that Eminemâs claims were in fact true.
According to the documents obtained by BuzzFeed, the Secret Service did indeed question Eminem due to what they say were âthreatening lyricsâ on the âFramedâ track from âRevivalâ. The Secret Service also noted that Eminem was âexhibiting inappropriate behaviorâ that âthreatens protecteeâ.
The government was apparently tipped off by a TMZ employee on December 15, 2017 the day âRevivalâ dropped with the report stating âa concerned citizen reported Marshall Mathers the rapper âEminemâ had a new song called âFramedâ with an inappropriate comment towards President Donald Trump and a threatening comment towards Ivanka Trump.â
The TMZ employee followed up stating that this wasnât the âfirst timeâ Eminem made threats towards Donald Trump.
TMZ didnât return requests for comment by BuzzFeed.
