šŸŽž Martin Scorsese gets all pretentious about Marvel Movies

Donā€™t expect legendary director Martin Scorsese to have any part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Scorsese whoā€™s responsible for the likes of Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas got all pretentious when it came to the MCU saying those movies are ā€œnot cinemaā€.

The Guardian:

ā€œI tried, you know?ā€ the director said when asked if he had seen Marvelā€™s movies. ā€œBut thatā€™s not cinema.ā€

He continued: ā€œHonestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isnā€™t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.ā€

In response to Scorsese, Avengers director Joss Whedon responded ā€œI rever Marty, & I do see his point, butā€¦ thereā€™s a reason why ā€˜Iā€™m always angry,ā€™ Whedon tweeted.

Anyways, itā€™s not clear how many bottles of Don Scorsese had shoved up his ass when he made those comments, however it seems clear that the Directorā€™s taste for movies doesnā€™t transcend flicks who are good for taking naps too.

Okayā€¦ thatā€™s going a bit far but what kind of close-minded asshole do you have to be to make the comment he made without actually taking time to watch the movies youā€™re taking shots at?
