Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) abruptly ended an interview after a Fox News Digital reporter asked about allegations connecting her to Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
The exchange, captured in a video published Sunday by Fox News Digital, came after claims made by Cynthia West, a former Massie staffer and former girlfriend of the Kentucky congressman. West previously told conservative commentator Laura Loomer that Massie had allegedly spoken about a sexual encounter involving Boebert shortly after the death of his wife in 2024.
Neither Boebert nor Massie has publicly confirmed the allegation, and no evidence has been presented to substantiate the claim.
Reporter Raises Controversial Allegation
During the interview, the Fox News Digital reporter attempted to ask Boebert about the accusation.
“One of his exes is making headlines, saying that you guys…” the reporter began before Boebert interrupted.
“F*** you, first of all,” Boebert responded.
“If you’re gonna bring me into this, like, the sexist stuff is out of control. So there’s your clickbait that you were looking for. I don’t want to talk about anybody’s exes and the crazy sh*t that they do.”
The confrontation quickly became heated, with Boebert accusing the media of pursuing sensationalism rather than substantive issues.
Interview Shifted Before Tensions Boiled Over
Earlier in the conversation, Boebert had discussed Massie’s political future after his defeat and expressed support for him potentially seeking another office.
“He filed for something,” Boebert said. “He didn’t specify what and I don’t know if he’s going to move forward with that or not. I don’t know. Hopefully he leaves here and makes some money.”
Moments later, when the discussion turned to the allegations, Boebert’s tone changed dramatically.
“I don’t want to talk about anybody’s exes and the crazy sh*t that they do,” she told the reporter, adding that the interview had previously focused on more important subjects.
The congresswoman then ended the interview and walked away.
Allegations Remain Unverified
The claims originated from Cynthia West, who previously had a relationship with Massie and worked on his staff. The accusations gained attention after comments made to Laura Loomer, but neither Boebert nor Massie has addressed the allegations in detail.
As of publication, no independent evidence has surfaced to support the claims.
Political Fallout
The exchange highlights the growing role of personality-driven media and social media figures in shaping political narratives. Questions about personal relationships and allegations involving public officials often generate significant online attention, even when claims remain unverified.
Boebert characterized the questioning as sexist and criticized what she described as clickbait journalism.
For now, the controversy appears centered around unsubstantiated allegations and a heated media confrontation rather than any confirmed misconduct.
