Singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey confirmed over the weekend that she is indeed being sued by Radiohead due to alleged plagiarism between Del Rey’s song “Get Free” and Radiohead’s “Creep”.

“It’s true about the lawsuit,” Rey said in a Sunday afternoon tweet. “Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”

I’m going to go ahead with the obvious pun here that Radiohead are being “creeps” in relation to this pending lawsuit against Del Rey.

Fuck that was awful…

Anyways, there are some similarities between some of the chord progressions but for the most part it seems like we have two pretty different songs here. Likewise I’m not against Radiohead trying to get their cut. I like Radiohead, they’re probably in my top 10 in terms of favorite bands of all time and Lana Del Rey is extremely talented in her own right. However “Creep” is probably the wrong song to be going after 100 percent of the publishing over if you’re Radiohead since they settled out of court with The Hollies over “Creep” sounding similar to “The Air That I Breathe”.

But judge for yourself.

The Hollies – “The Air That I Breathe”
