Ghostbusters

There’s been a lot of bad movie trailers on YouTube, however Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters trailer may be the worst yet.

That is if you’re basing the worst ever on the amount of YouTube dislikes then the new Ghostbusters’ trailer takes the cake. You heard that right, the all female version of the 1980’s classic has amounted the most YouTube dislikes than any other trailer in the video streaming website’s history. Here’s ScreenCrush with the remake’s futility milestones:

The Ghostbusters trailer currently has 507,610 dislikes on YouTube. To put that in perspective, the Fantastic Four trailer from last year has only 20,175 dislikes. The Ridiculous Six trailer, which has an impressive 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, has only 5,803 dislikes. Could Ghostbusters be that much worse than either of those two movies? It’s seems unlikely knowing what we know about both Fantastic Four and Ridiculous Six. What is actually happening is that a certain subset of people on the internet have an unhealthy fixation with hating on the Ghostbusters remake and are teaming up to downvote it into oblivion.

Not only is the new Ghostbusters’ trailer the worst ever among move trailers, it’s ratio to total views and dislikes ranks it up there among the most unpopular videos altogether. With the trailer having a total of around 507,610 dislikes and 28.7 million views we see a futility ratio of 56:1. Compare that to Justin Bieber‘s ‘Baby’ video (the most disliked video on YouTube) and people are disliking the Ghostbusters trailer at four times the rate. Currently the ‘Baby’ video has 1.5 million disapproval YouTube marks on 2.5 billion views.

Ultimately the Ghostbusters trailer may not unseat Bieber however it’ll certainly reach one-million dislikes at some point. It may even surpass that mark before the movie comes out in July.
