Friday police in New York City responded to a reported shooting at the Lebanon Hospital in the Bronx.

According to authorities the incident occurred just before 3 PM at 173rd street in the Grand Concourse on the 16th floor of the hospital.

Two people were later confirmed shot by police on the 16th floor. At 4:01 PM authorities confirmed the shooter had been killed however it’s unclear if he was included in the two original wounded.

The suspect is believed to be a former employee of the hospital.

UPDATE: Police say the shooter was a doctor who was recently let go.
