Because he’s afraid of a pee tape, has been compromised politically and/or is completely clueless Donald Trump has gone Russian first when it comes to their meddling in the U.S. presidential elections.

And why? Because Vladimir Putin said Russia didn’t have anything to do with interfering in the U.S. Presidential Elections. This of course despite a collective consensus amongst the U.S. intelligence community saying undoubtedly Russia in-fact had everything to do with meddling in the 2016 elections.

Via Fortune:

“Every time he sees me he says I didn’t do that, and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One after leaving the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in the resort of Danang.

“I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country,” Trump said.

Well those comments didn’t sit well with Arizona Senator John McCain, a decorated war hero and legislative foe of Trump who called the President out for trusting a former KGB agent instead of his own intelligence contingent.

So how did Trump follow all of this up?

Yep that same guy that railed NFL players for not standing during the National Anthem is thwarting the intelligence community for the words of a Russian strongman. Not to mention trying to justify a relationship with Russia – seemingly on their terms since he’s buying Putin’s bullshit – after the Kremlin has in a way befriended North Korea, is known allies with the Syrian dictator who’s killing his own people, annexed parts of a sovereign Ukraine and bombed Syrian rebels fighting ISIS and an oppressive regime.
