Donald Trump

VP-elect Mike Pence was met with a chorus of boos as he entered a theatre to view the Broadway play Hamilton Friday night. At the end of the performance one of the lead actors, Brandon Victor Dixon thanked the VP-elect for his attendance but also voiced his concern for the upcoming Trump administration, notably Pence’s record of suppressing the rights of the LGBT community, especially in the state of Indiana.

Here’s what Dixon told the VP-elect and former governor (via the New York Times):

“We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” he said. “We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us.”

This of course didn’t sit will the thin-skinned, orange future commander and chief who took to his favorite social-media platform to illustrate his displeasure:

First off, it’s amazing the amount of time Trump has as a president-elect of the United States.

Second, I fail to see where exactly the cast of Hamilton was in Trump’s words “harassing” Pence. If you want to construe booing as being disrespectful then so be it. However that’s pretty much what you get when you associate yourself with a campaign that ran on fear and hate. Plus there’s Pence’s own record of being incredibly anti-LGBT.

Finally, the comedic aspect to all of this is Trump proclaiming the theatre “must always be a safe and special place”. He’s right, but now where did I see Pence’s life being in danger from a bunch of people voicing their first amendment rights to a guy who quite frankly has taken liberties with other people’s freedoms. Isn’t it totally ironic too that Trump based a lot of is campaigning on the notion of political correctness destroying the country? Now he need’s his “safe place”?

Trump is a clown through and through. But I guess whatever you can to take away from the $25 million dollar lawsuit you settled on the Trump University fraud case.
