Dolores O’Riordan, who shot to fame as the singer of the 90’s band the Cranberries has died at the age of 46 according to her publicist who said O’Riordan was with her band for a recording session in London.

A statement from her publicist said: “The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session.
“No further details are available at this time.”
It added: “Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
Irish rock band Kodaline also confirmed the sad news via Twitter Monday afternoon.

The Cranberries with O’Riordan had a number of hits throughout the 90’s including “Zombie”, “Dreams” and “Linger” while their debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? sold over 40 million copies Worldwide in 1993.
Last year, the Cranberries embarked on a tour with stops in the UK, Europe and the United States but had to cut the tour short in May due to health issues with O’Riordan. Although the band at the time stated those health issues had to do with the singers back, it’s unclear at this time if last year’s health problems had anything to do with her untimely death today.
O’Riordan is survived by her three children with ex-husband of 20 years Don Burton who she separated from in 2014, as well as what may be the most amazing Saturday Night Live musical performance of all time.
