Former FBI James Comey may end up getting the last laugh when it comes to his former boss, the 45th president of the United States Donald Trump.

According to a bombshell report from the New York Times stemming from memos written by the former FBI head, Trump apparently asked Comey to end the Bureau’s  investigation into former national security advisor Michael Flynn’s ties to Russia. However “asked” may be putting all of this lightly, “pressured” may be a more suitable term considering the guy ended up losing his job.

“I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Comey, according to the memo. “He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”

Mr. Trump told Mr. Comey that Mr. Flynn had done nothing wrong, according to the memo.

Mr. Comey did not say anything to Mr. Trump about curtailing the investigation, only replying: “I agree he is a good guy.”

This exchange apparently took place back in February which was the same meeting where Trump inappropriately asked Comey to pledge his loyalty president spray tan himself.

But wait… there’s more.

To add to the topics discussed in the meeting was Trump proclaiming that journalist should be jailed for publishing classified information leaked to them.

Alone in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump began the discussion by condemning leaks to the news media, saying that Mr. Comey should consider putting reporters in prison for publishing classified information, according to one of Mr. Comey’s associates. Mr. Trump then turned the discussion to Mr. Flynn.

So Trump wants pull some third-world, authoritarian type of move for journalist when the guy was dumping info to a country who may have been complicit in Syria’s chemical attack on innocent men, women and children several weeks ago?

Anyways, here’s your first smoking gun that Trump may have been actively trying to obstruct the investigation into his cronies’ ties to the Kremlin. Someone check the bushes for Spicey.
